Some would call Greg a nomad, considering he has moved over 20 times in his life and lived in six different states. He was born in Southern Illinois and considers himself a midwestern/southern hybrid. Greg met his wife Sarah during his senior year in college while they both worked as counselors at a camp in a small Missouri town. Engaged in November 1994, he moved to Sarah’s native home of northern California in September 1995 to get married the following month. After living there for six years, he and his family were transferred to the Atlanta, Georgia area where they have lived for more than five years.

Greg grew up “churched.” Both sides of his family were diehard church-goers and still are to this day. It was at 14 years old that he gave his life to Christ while attending church camp but wasn’t until he was almost 22 that he made his faith personal. “I grew up with lots of knowledge, everything that I learned at home and at church changed my life. But it wasn’t until college that I took a look at all that I knew and wondered why I believed what I did. I had a relationship with Christ. I had knowledge. But I wasn’t sure I had truth.” While at YMCA Camp Lakewood, at the same place he met Sarah, he spent hours in God’s Word examining scripture and growing in his walk with Christ.

In college at Murray State University, Greg majored in advertising with a minor in youth agency administration. He graduated in 1995 with his bachelor’s degree and pursued a career in advertising and marketing that lasted almost 10 years. Success came quickly. With the work ethic of his father, he put many hours into his career and rose quickly to the corporate level of a mid-sized advertising agency where he led the company’s marketing initiatives. After almost three years in the Atlanta-area, however, God got his attention. “I was minding what I would have called my own business, but I wasn’t content. As a family we had everything we needed and more, but I was restless. I sought the counsel of our pastor to help me understand what was happening in my life. He gave me two pieces of advice that I’ll never forget: Philippians 2:13 and ‘keep doing what you’re doing. God has you right where He wants you.’” That was November 2003. In March 2004 Greg was called as minister to young adults at First Baptist Church in Snellville, GA where he was until stepping out in faith to plant Milestone Community Church in September 2006.

Greg’s passion is to see people come to know Christ and then to see them grow in that relationship. Greg loves being creative. His visionary leadership includes a desire to put processes and strategies in place to see the body of Christ grow and each person become more like Christ.

Greg also has a tremendous heart for families and desire to see families become spiritual training grounds for the next generation. No where is this more apparent than in the way Greg leads his own home, where he and his family have exhibited tremendous faith to be a part of this church start. Greg’s wife Sarah is everyone’s best friend, a loving wife, and super mom to their three children-Logan, Rebekah and Justin.
